Quizás recuerdes que hace unas cuantas semanas te comentamos que había un rumor acerca de un posible nuevo contenido descargable para Gears of War 2, llamado Dark Corners, el cual Epic de inmediato desmintió. Pues ahora resulta que Dark Corners sí existe, pero Epic no nos mintió. Dark Corners no es un DLC, es un nuevo paquete de mapas que será incluido en una nueva versión del juego.
Gears of Wars 2: All Fronts Collection incluirá todos los contenidos descargables que existen a la fecha más Dark Corners, que tiene siete nuevos mapas de multiplayer y un capítulo de campaña borrado del título, llamado Road to Ruin. En este, Dom y Marcus regresan a territorio Locust; puede ser jugado como siempre o con el nuevo sistema de sigilo.
- Allfathers Garden: Honra los terrenos sagrados de los fundadores de la Coalición en este explosivo mapa, en donde poderosas armas sirven de catalizador para una acción rápida y furiosa en este monumento COG.
- Memorial: Ubicado cerca de la Llama Eterna que paga tributo a los soldados caídos en el campo de batalla, una ardua batalla tiene lugar en la Tumba de los Desconocidos. Al poner a prueba su formación de flanqueo y habilidades evasivas, los jugadores lucharán por el control del Boomshot.
- Sanctuary: Una vez fue un lugar para la reflexión y el recuerdo, pero todo lo que queda de Sanctuary es el frío de la muerte. Agasaja tus ojos con el arsenal de armas disponible mientras viajas a través de caminos estrechos y esquinas ciegas de los corredores de este templo dañado por los Locusts.
- War Machine: En la estación de trenes abandonada que alguna vez sirvió como nexo de viaje. Los jugadores tendrán que dominar el Longshot, Mulcher y Boomshot para vanzar en la pelea mientras evaden las plataformas superiores.
- Highway: Lleva la pelea al interior de la Guarida de los Locusts por los complejos pasajes de este sistema de carreteras subterráneo desbordantes de alimañas enemigas. Manténganse juntos, separen al enemigo y tengan lista una estrategia de salida, porque de otra forma este será un viaje sin regreso.
- Way Station: Situado en el limbo entre la muerte y el procesamiento se encuentran las estaciones de envío de los Locusts llenas de soldados del COG. Viaja ligero y practica tu paciencia, ya que es mejor sacrificar poder de disparo en favor del sigilo mientras navegas este campo minado con granadas.
- Nowhere: Ambientado en el centro de lo que alguna vez fue un destino para viajeros cansados, la tierra ahora se encuentra estéril y sin vida. Mata a tus enemigos con el rifle Longshot y ábrete camino hacia la escalera que lleva al otro equipo, fuertemente armado en esta intensa batalla.
Seguramente estás pensando que el precio será bastante alto, pero no, el paquete costará $20 USD, la verdad un excelente precio, en especial si te faltan algunos de los paquetes de mapas que actualmente se encuentran en el Bazar. Si ya los tienes todos, los nuevos siete mapas bien podrían valer la pena, más aún cuando tenemos en cuenta que también se incluye una introducción hecha por Cliff Bleszinski de “Road to Ruin”, un póster coleccionable, una guía de estrategia y un tema exclusivo para Xbox LIVE. Claro que si eres codo o simplemente no quieres comprar todo, Dark Corners saldrá solo como contenido descargable y podrás adquirirlo en el Bazar de Xbox LIVE por la cantidad de 1600 puntos. The momentum doesn't stop there—to commemorate these milestones, Microsoft Game Studios and Epic Games will unleash the Gears of War 2: All Fronts Collection, a value-packed compilation that combines all previous Gears of War 2 game add-ons with brand new multiplayer and campaign content for $19.99. Available only at retail, the new collection invades store shelves worldwide on July 28 in LIVE-enabled regions.

Included in the Gears of War 2: All Fronts Collection is the Gears of War 2: Dark Corners game add-on, which features seven new multiplayer maps, plus a deleted campaign chapter called Road to Ruin. In this exclusive episode, Marcus and Dom return to the Locust Hollow in a scene that can be played two ways, guns blazing or in all-new stealth mode.

Map Details
Seven brand-new multiplayer maps are included in the Dark Corners add-on.
- Allfathers Garden: Honor the sacred grounds of the Coalition founders in this explosive map, where powerful weapons catalyze fast and furious action at this COG landmark.
- Memorial: Set near the Eternal Flame, which pays tribute to the fallen soldiers on the battlefield, a hard-fought battle ensues at the Tomb of Unknowns. Putting your flank formation and evasive skills to the test as you fight to control the Boomshot.
- Sanctuary: Once a peaceful ground for reflection and remembrance, all that remains of the Sanctuary is the chill of death. Feast your eyes on the arsenal of weapons available as you make your way through the tight paths and blind corners of the Locust-damaged temple corridors.
- War Machine: In the abandoned train station that once served as a hub for travel, you will need to master the Longshot, Mulcher, and Boomshot weapons to advance the fight while evading fire from the platforms above.
- Highway: Take the fight deep into the Locust Hollow in the complex passages of this underground highway system brimming with enemy vermin. Stick together, separate the enemy and have an exit strategy ready or it'll be a one-way trip.
- Way Station: Sitting in limbo between death and "processing" are Locust way stations filled with fallen COG soldiers. Tread lightly and practice patience as it's better to sacrifice firepower for stealth while navigating this minefield of hidden grenades.
- Nowhere: Set in the middle of what was once a destination for weary desert travellers, the land is now barren and devoid of life. Pick off your enemies with the Longshot sniper rifle and make your way to the stairwell with a well-fortified team during this intense firefight.
